Gulls at Winchelsea Beach

We popped down to the beach yesterday and I tried out my new camera taking pictures of birds in flight. First, a Common Tern, identifiable by its long pointed wings and black 'cap' it looks like it's wearing:
Then a Black Headed Gull, named for obvious reasons:The gulls noticed a piece of debris floating just off the shore, and they all decided they'd better check it out before flying off in disgust, which gave me a great opportunity for pictures: More cool pictures follow in the rest of the post...
