I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours in the wood this afternoon, while Tracy was in London for work. I won't get there again until the Easter weekend now, as I've got a lot of work travelling to do.
I took the opportunity to finish the could of stools we'd start on Tuesday:

We won't sort them into types until we're done - the priority is getting the trees down. There are still a few more stools down that side to do:
I also cleared a few more trees from under the mixed mass of birch and chestnut, and did some work to widen the entrance gap, to hopefully get more wildlife into the coppiced area. The gap to the left of the sign below used to be filled by several small birch:
